Iranians attend mourning ceremony of ‘Sham-e-Ghariban’

Iranians have attended the mourning ceremony of Sham-e-Ghariban all around the country.

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei attended the mourning ceremony at Husseiniyah of Imam Khomeini (RA) in Tehran.

The traditional mourning ceremony was held in different religious sites, including the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS) in Mashhad.

The mourning ceremony of Sham-e-Ghariban, a traditional ceremony also called ‘Companions of Sorrow’, refers to the evening and night of Ashura.
